Our Guidelines
At Whispurrs Cat Retreat, we have a range of boarding requirements to keep your feline family member protected against infections and illnesses.
Vaccinations
If vaccinations have not been sighted on or before arrival cats will absolutely be refused entry to the facility. No exceptions.

Cattery Inspections
We require all cats to complete a full vaccination course (F3, F4 or F5) to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our feline guests. Proof of current vaccination certificates must be held preceding boarding. Certificates must indicate the most recent vaccination within the last 12 months.
Cats
All kittens are required to obtain a full vaccination course consisting of 3 injections (usually a month apart) and a 2-week period of rest following the third injection. Whispurrs Cat Retreat generally permits kittens that are at least 18 weeks old with complete vaccination status.
Kittens
We require these cats to obtain 2 injections (usually a month apart) and a 2-week period of rest following the second injection. We only allow adult cats with a complete vaccination certificate to safeguard their health. If your cat does not have any, a minimum 6-week period is needed to achieve full status.
Adult Cats
At Whispurrs Cat Retreat, we ensure your cat is safe and secure prior to boarding. See our list of requirements below.
- All cats more than 6 months of age must be desexed.
- All cats must undergo flea/worm treatments 1 to 2 weeks prior to their stay. We will charge extra costs for any treatments done in-house.
- All cats must be brought in a secure carrier. Pet carriers with cracks, holes or loose doors are not permitted to enter. Carry boxes must be purchased to allow entry and must be left in our cattery until your return.
Boarding requirements
All cats must be in good physical condition and not have any of the following ailments a week prior to boarding:
- Coughing, vomiting, sneezing, diarrhoea and other infectious diseases. Cats found to be carrying any of these diseases will not be permitted to enter.
- All cat owners must provide a list of written instructions for medications and feed requirements (if different from what we provide). The list should include the prescribing vet’s name for our reference.
- All medications must be labelled with your cat’s name, dosage, time and administration instructions.
Note: Full payment is required in advance. No refunds or credits are given for returning earlier than booked.

Cattery Inspections
At Whispurrs Cat Retreat, we love showing off our facility. Prior to boarding, we let you see our purpose-built cattery and meet our pet professionals. Unscheduled inspections may not be possible in some instances. For this reason, we ask you to call or email us so we can arrange an inspection.
We will answer any enquiries you have to ensure your cat receives the best care it needs.
